Just in time to be included on Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone’s list of potential landing spots for Amazon’s second headquarters, the owner of the long-delayed NorthPoint development site has renamed the 45-acre parcel as Cambridge Crossing.
Jeff Bezos may or may not knock on DivcoWest’s door begging to build Amazon’s new headquarters at its NorthPoint site, but the development company is poised to offer new construction of office and lab buildings to meet life science and tech firms’ often-swift timetables for occupancy.
If Amazon picks Greater Boston for its second headquarters, the $5-billion complex will likely be spread across a mix of existing buildings and new development, some of the region’s leading developers predict.
