An open-floorplan house from 1843 takes the third spot in this week’s roundup of Massachusetts’ most expensive home sales. Most of the first floor on the original antebellum farmhouse has been opened up into an expanse of hand-hewn ceiling beams, wide floorboards and rustic wooden wall paneling that wraps around a chimney stack, according to the listing photos. An addition, from 1994 according to town property records, includes a large, open-plan kitchen and more bedrooms. A pool, pool house and barn-slash-garage round out the secluded home.
