In its third annual "Banking for the Community" giveaway, donated a total of $15,000 to 15 community organizations.
In BankGloucester’s giveaway, community members voted on how to distribute the funds through ballots in newspapers, in the bank’s lobby and through its website, according to a statement.
Cape Ann Animal Aid received the most votes and was awarded $5,000. St. Anne’s School, the second place winner, received $3,000. The Rose Baker Senior Center received the third highest number of votes and was presented with a check for $1,000.
The following 12 organizations received $500 each: Action Inc., AGH Raiders, American Red Cross of Northeast MA, Beeman PTO, Cape Ann YMCA, East Gloucester PTO, Ethnic Arts Center, Faith Christian School, Gloucester Education Foundation, Gloucester Fisherman Athletic Association, Open Door Food Pantry and Sawyer Free Library.
