Barclays Capital Inc. will lay off 25 Boston-area employees when it sells its wealth and investment management business to Stifel Financial Corp., according to a notice the company filed last week with the state.
The layoffs will begin late this year. For those employees entitled to a notice period of 30 to 90 days, Barclays will pay them regular pay and benefits regardless of whether they are required to come to work.
The affected employees were notified last month.
