Fall River-based BayCoast Bank, formerly Citizens~Union Savings Bank, has hired Ryan Matteson as assistant treasurer/branch manager of the bank’s Tiverton, R.I., location.

Matteson, who lives in Tiverton, will facilitate business development strategies in addition to overseeing the day to day bank operations and activities of the Tiverton Branch. As a member of the local community, Matteson will continue to support and participate in community and charitable events, the bank said.

Matteson most recently held the position of vice president bank manager of the Newton Corner office of Citizens Bank in Newton. Matteson started as a bank teller at Bank of Boston. He managed his first branch in 2002 and has held managerial positions for the last 10 years. 

He received his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston. He also graduated from the year-long Fleet Management Leadership and Development Program in 2002.

BayCoast Bank CEO and President Nicholas M. Christ said in a statement: "Ryan is not only a vital addition to the BayCoast Bank team, but his familiarity with the Tiverton area and its residents provides a strong base for professional relationships within the community."
