Blue Hills Bank promoted Shannon Mahoney to senior vice president and internal auditor.

Mahoney, formerly vice president, compliance and bank secrecy act officer, will report to the audit committee of the board of directors and work with compliance credit administration and enterprise and risk management.

“Shannon has consistently expanded the depth and breadth of her responsibilities and played very constructive roles for the bank since joining us,” President and CEO William M. Parent said in a statement. “The board of director’s audit committee has come to respect her constructive but objective approach, her attention to detail and her work ethic. We are lucky to have her expertise in this new role.”

Before she joined Blue Hills Bank in March of 2013, Mahoney had worked for more than 10 years with the state Division of Banks as supervisory bank examiner. She is a certified bank examiner with the Conference of State Bank Supervisors.
