Georgetown Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Georgetown Bancorp Inc., recently promoted Philip J. Bryan to the position of executive vice president and chief operations officer. In his new position, Bryan will assume responsibility for managing all aspects of the bank’s day to day operations including residential/consumer and commercial lending, retail banking, deposit operations, compliance and security.

 Bryan’s background in various areas of bank operations extends for over twenty years.  Most recently, he has held the position of senior vice president/chief lending officer at the bank.  Prior to coming to the bank, Bryan held the position of senior vice president and retail and lending at Metro Credit Union, Chelsea, where he was responsible for all aspects of the customer facing departments including consumer and commercial lending, retail branches, call center, and collections. He has also held senior management positions at TD Banknorth, the former Ipswich Savings Bank, Ipswich and Metro West Bank, Framingham.

 Bryan is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in human resource management.
