Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank announced its participation beginning this week in Red Shirt Fridays, a nationwide effort to show support for men and women serving in the military.

President and CEO Dorothy A. Savarese said in a statement, "We are proud to encourage our employees to wear red on Fridays to recognize and show support for our servicemen and servicewomen.  Whether or not they wear a red shirt on Fridays, we also hope others think about how they can support the men and women who serve our country and who are often are away from family and friends, living with hardships and risking their lives."

In addition to Red Shirt Fridays, the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank and its Charitable Foundation have provided support to Heroes in Transition and the Cape & Islands Veterans’ Outreach Center, both local charities involved in multiple levels of assistance to our troops and their families.
