The Hyannis-based Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod announced late last week that Linda Simmons joined the bank as chief financial officer and treasurer.

"I am excited to announce the addition of Linda to our senior management team," president Joel Crowell said in a statement. "Linda has deep and broad experience in the financial industry and will help us continue on our path of being the best community bank on Cape Cod."

Simmons has over 25 years of high-level financial industry experience, in roles at Narragansett Bay Insurance Company, Bank Rhode Island and Bank of America. She has received numerous honors in the industry, including the CFO Award for a Public Company based out of Rhode Island by Providence Business News in 2011.  She is also a past Board Member of Women’s and Infants Hospital in Providence and has been active in Bryant University’s Women’s Summit Program. She will be based in the bank’s operations center in Hyannis and oversee the financial operations of the Bank. 

She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Babson College and an MBA from Suffolk University.
