A 268,000 square-foot Chelsea office property occupied by the local offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigation was acquired for $134.5 million.

In 2016, the FBI left its longtime headquarters at One Center Plaza in Boston in favor of the 8-story facility at 201 Maple St. in Chelsea.

The buyer lists Dallas-based Allan Bailey Johnson Group as manager. Old National Bank provided $94.15 million in mortgage financing for this week’s transaction.

The property was originally developed by Chelsea-based ACS Development Corp. through an affiliate, Emerald Corporate Center LLC. The company was co-founded by Anthony Simboli, whose daughter Patricia followed him into the family business as a principal.

The FBI originally leased the building for 20 years. The property spans 5.1 acres.
