Long-time Falmouth resident and veteran banking executive Ronald Garcia has joined The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod as the bank’s business development officer at its soon-to-open Falmouth branch.
Garcia will work out of the bank’s office at 649 Main St. in Falmouth, which is expected to open early next month, according to a statement. It is the bank’s first branch in the town.
The Falmouth office will be the seventh branch for The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. Initially, it will offer a 24-hour ATM, residential and commercial lending services, and a suite of business services. The bank said its current business plan does not call for bank tellers at this location.
Garcia has 37 years of banking experience in the Falmouth market, including 16 years at The Falmouth Cooperative Bank/Rockland Trust and more than 20 years at The Falmouth National Bank, the bank said. In his new position, Garcia will be responsible for introducing the bank’s wide range of business banking solutions and demonstrating its banking approach to the local community.
Garcia is a former member and vice-chairman of the town of Falmouth finance committee; a board member and past president of the Scholarship Association of Falmouth; a former trustee of Falmouth Hospital and Falmouth Academy; and a past director of the Falmouth Senior Center.
"Ron is a tremendous addition to the team and brings years of experience helping Falmouth residents with their banking needs," said Joel Crowell, president of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. "We think Ron’s a perfect fit. His veteran leadership and passion for the community are well-known in Falmouth."
