East Boston Savings Bank has hired Chris G. Grevelis as a reverse mortgage officer in the bank’s Lynnfield office.

In his new  role, Grevelis will focus on educating seniors age 62 and older about the features and benefits of reverse mortgage programs. He will help seniors get additional funds by converting home equity into cash, according to a statement.

A Peabody resident, Grevelis is a graduate of Salem State College and previously worked at The Savings Bank in Wakefield.
