HarborOne Credit Union’s board of directors recently voted to donate $78,500 to nine local community-based organizations.
"Every one of these wonderful human services agencies has suffered because of the consequences of this painful and long-term recession," said James W. Blake, president and CEO of HarborOne. "HarborOne has grown because of the loyalty of local residents opening and maintaining accounts with us. It is only fair that we support them in the time of need."
The following organizations will receive funding from HarborOne.
• $25,000 to the Brockton Boys & Girls Club to sponsor its annual Black Tie & Tennis Shoes Fundraiser on May 19.
• $25,000 to Father Bill’s and Mainspring’s "Spring for Hope" campaign to the new residences at 26 Spring St. in Brockton.
• $8,500 to the Old Colony YMCA’s annual "Strong Kids Campaign" to help send youth to summer camps.
• $5,500 to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless through the Credit Union Community Hope Initiative.
