James M. Braz has joined Mechanics Cooperative Bank as vice president and commercial loan officer.

Braz brings over 25 years of banking experience to his new position, starting his career on the retail lending side in the late 1980s. Braz most recently worked as vice president and small business banker at Bank of America and was responsible for the south coast Massachusetts market.

“Jim brings a great amount of experience working across business lines, partnering with branch managers and staff, residential loan officers and wealth management services to provide his borrowers with a complete package of banking services,” Joseph T. Baptista Jr., president and CEO of Mechanics Cooperative Bank, said in a statement. “We are confident Jim will be a great asset to Mechanics Cooperative Bank.”
