Mount Vernon Mortgage Corp. of Weymouth is expanding its reverse mortgage division, and has added Falmouth resident Robert Tranchell to its team to oversee the division.

Tranchell comes to Mount Vernon with almost a decade of experience in reverse mortgage lending, working directly with homeowners as well as developing educational programs for homeowners, according to a statement.

"Reverse mortgages are growing in popularity for homeowners over the age of 62," said Robert Petrelli, president of Mount Vernon Mortgage Corp. "But it’s a loan program that requires a unique kind of attention to ensure that the homeowner’s needs are properly met, so we made the commitment to expand the division to best serve our clients.
