Whitman-based Mutual Bank has launched a new, updated Web site and promoted a new assistant vice president.

The site, www.mymutualbank.com, "better reflects the great institution that is Mutual Bank," according to Glen S. White, CEO of the bank.

In addition to a new, sleek graphic look, the site introduces features and functions that will make it easier for customers to do business with the bank: streamlined navigation, more useful tools and more detailed information about bank services, he added.

Features of the Web site make it easier for customers to open accounts and apply for loans online – including mortgages, equity lines of credit and personal loans. Accounts available via the online process include checking, savings, money market accounts and certificates of deposit.

Also, the bank has promoted Margaret "Peggy" Finn of Plympton to assistant vice president, deposit operations, based in the bank’s administrative headquarters in Whitman.

Finn began her career with Mutual Bank 14 years ago, as a part-time teller.

In 1999, Finn was promoted to operations supervisor, overseeing a department that at the time was newly developed, the bank said in a statement. Five years later she earned the title of assistant treasurer and assisted in growing the deposit operations department.
