Rockland Trust has hired Ellen Molle to serve as its new vice president and public relations manager. 

Molle will oversee the strategic planning, management, execution, and analysis of public relations activity for the full-service commercial bank headquartered in Rockland.

 "We are thrilled to have Ellen join the Rockland Trust team," said Mark Gibson, Rockland Trust’s chief marketing officer.  "We will benefit from her extensive knowledge and experience working in the financial services industry, as well as her proven track record developing, executing, and directing effective integrated marketing communications strategies.

Molle served most recently as director of public relations at Sovereign Bank, where she managed corporate internal and external communications, and government relations activities. Prior to joining Sovereign, Molle worked for more than a decade as a broadcast journalist for ABC News Nightline, where she received two national Emmy awards, and for WABU-TV 68 in Boston, producing a nightly public affairs program, which was nominated for four New England Emmy awards. 

Molle holds a bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in government studies from Harvard University.
