Hanover-based Rockland Trust has named Brian Slater vice president of its commercial lending team.

Serving the Boston and Metro North communities, Slater is responsible for developing commercial lending opportunities and supporting prospective and current clients in accomplishing their business goals.

"Brian brings a wealth of experience to Rockland Trust’s Commercial Lending team," Michael Lindberg, first vice president and lending center manager at Rockland Trust, said in a statement. "We are excited to have him on board and I’m particularly looking forward to working with him to help serve the business community in the Greater Boston and Metro North markets." 

Slater brings 25 years of commercial banking experience from various financial institutions throughout the region. Prior to joining Rockland Trust, he served as senior vice president and team leader at People’s United Bank. Previously, he also held positions at Bank of America, Wainwright Bank, Fleet Boston and Shawmut Bank. 

Slater graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree.
