Unibank North Grafton FOGE donationWhitinsville-based UniBank has opened a branch in North Grafton. As part of the bank’s grand opening, UniBank committed $50,000 in charitable donations and sponsorships for the betterment of the community.

The new branch, located at 89 Worcester St., is the bank’s tenth store.

The bank’s committed donations include $2,500 to the Grafton Food Bank, $2,500 to the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and $5,000 to fund fuel assistance for Grafton residents. The largest single contribution of $20,000 has been given to the Friends of Grafton Elders to assist in purchasing a new van for the Grafton Senior Center.

Not all of the $50,000 has been donated; $8,500 has been earmarked to support worthy causes in Grafton during the remainder of the 2013 calendar year.

The bank will continue to support the Community Harvest Project with a donation of $7,500 and the Grafton Public Library with a donation of $2,500. UniBank’s $2,000 UniBank scholarship has also been committed to a graduating senior from Grafton High School’s Class of 2013.
