More than 40 high schools across the commonwealth will receive a total of more than $123,000 in funding to expand or establish financial education programs, including eight first-time applicants.
MassDevelopment and the Baker-Polito Administration have opened a $2.5 million funding round for the Site Readiness Program, which provides grants to municipalities and others for uses like strategic land acquisition, feasibility studies, master planning, environmental permitting and site improvements.
Among the 1,400 amendments to the House’s fiscal 2019 budget is a proposal to create a new grant program intended to help schools boost early literacy.
Earlier this week, Gov. Charlie Baker announced $72 million in housing subsidy funds and additional state and federal tax credits to 25 projects in 17 communities for the creation, rehabilitation and preservation of 1,970 housing units across the commonwealth, including 402 units reserved for very low-income families and families making the transition out of homelessness.
